Divisions and branches define how your organization is structured in Ribbiot. Divisions determine which forms your crew can access and how resource groups are scoped. Branches represent your physical locations. Setting these up correctly is foundational — most other features in Ribbiot reference them.
Key Concepts
- Division: A distinct company or operation within your organization. If your company runs multiple operations under one account (e.g., crane services and general contracting), each one is a division.
- Branch: A physical location within your organization — an office, yard, or job site headquarters. Each branch belongs to a division and carries its own contact info, address, and logo.
How It Works
Viewing divisions and branches
Open Settings from the sidebar. The main Settings page shows your divisions with their branches grouped underneath.

- Expand a division — Click a division name to reveal its branches. Each branch card shows the branch logo, name, city, phone number, email, and address.
- Filter users by these values — On the Managing Users page, use the filter options to narrow the user list by branch or division.
Adding or editing a branch
You can add and edit branches directly from Settings.

- Add a branch — Click + Add Branch under the division where the branch belongs. Fill in the branch name, email, phone number, address (street, city, state, postal code), and upload a logo. Save to create it.
- Edit a branch — Click Edit on an existing branch card. Update any fields and save. The branch logo and contact info appear on documents like quotes and invoices generated from that branch.
All branch fields are required except the quote cover image. The phone number must follow US formatting (e.g., 555-555-5555).
Divisions
Divisions are managed by the Ribbiot team. If you need a new division added to your account, contact our support team. You can view your existing divisions on the Settings page, but creating or editing them is not available in the customer-facing settings.
Permissions & Access

You need the Account Settings permission to access the Settings page. If you don't see Settings in the sidebar, ask your account administrator to enable it on your profile.
Tips & Best Practices
- Set up divisions and branches before adding users: When creating a user, you'll need to assign them to at least one division and branch. Having these in place first saves time during onboarding.
- Keep branch contact info current: Branch details (email, phone, address, logo) appear on generated documents like quotes and invoices. Outdated info means outdated paperwork.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
Q: I need to add a new division — how do I do that? A: Divisions are currently managed by the Ribbiot team. Contact support to request a new division.
Q: I don't see the Settings page in my sidebar — what's wrong? A: Settings requires the Account Settings permission. Ask your account administrator to enable it for your profile.
Q: Can I move a branch from one division to another? A: Not directly in Settings. Contact support if you need to reassign a branch to a different division.
Q: What happens to users if I change a branch's details? A: Users assigned to that branch are not affected — their assignment stays. Only the branch's display info (name, logo, contact) updates.
